American Rose Society Affiliate Petals To Pages wcfrs.blogspot.com May 2021 Welcome to May! Welcome to May! This is definitely the time of year that all rose growers look forward to. The roses are starting to bloom and all of the hard work is paying off. My own roses are just starting to bloom except Lady Banks who is completing her bloom and was fabulous this year. It was hard to tell that I lost the whole top of the rose to Hurricane Florence and had to have a bobcat haul it out of my yard just 2 and a half years ago. It is encouraging to see how things continue to improve with the Covid vaccination now available to all. I hope you are all still healthy and beginning to enjoy a little more freedom. The WCFRS Board will meet again in June 2021. The arboretum has sent me information regarding the arboretum starting to reopen in May with very limited use. We will discuss how to make this work for WCFRS and let you know as soon as all of this is worked out. We normally would not meet in July. I hope we will be able to meet in some capacity in August 2021. I am so looking forward to seeing all of you on the May rose tour. Please remember that we are having a small tour for WCFRS members and our friends and family on Saturday May 8, 2021 from 11:00 until 4:00 PM. The Gardens On Tour 1.
